Has your application been accepted? Use these tips to insure that you don’t lose your new pet in the Pound!

-Discuss the plans of adoption with the current owner and make sure that you both understand completely.
-Make sure that you and the current owner have an instant messenger such as Yahoo! Messenger, MSN, Windows Live, or AIM. Both of you should be signed in and speaking with each other over the instant messenger during the adoption process. Speak slowly and have the owner do a countdown before he/she places the pet in the adoption center. Cut down on conversation chat and keep to the adoption plan.
-If you are the future owner of the pet, have the pet’s name on your “Paste” option and make sure that you are on the Adopt-A-Pet Search Engine in the Pound. The moment the pet is placed in the Pound, paste the name and adopt it as fast as possible!
